Music-Junkie meets Blog-Junkie

Hello,
I thought I would share a neat picture/idea that I found on one of the blogs that I read daily. I thought this was a clever and cute idea for a hat rack. (Sister- let's make some!)
Also, I might add...
My sister has made me into "Blog Junkie!!" I know, I know...you're thinking, "What?! How?! You never blog...so on, so forth." Well, that's because I am constantly reading everyone else's blog. I adoringly & lovingly blame LQ. She introduced me to Rockstar Diaries and I went down hill from there (or I should say up hill because I love them so much). I now have several that I read every day. Like I said before, I love them but my work might be suffering some. Yesterday, I literally told myself, "You cannot read any Farm Fresh Forensics until you finish the expense reports!!" Yipes!
Anyhoo, junkies don't like to "use" alone...so here's a list of my faves. Haha!
(Pixiwoo is a youtube blog...SOOOOO COOOOL. I have learned so much from Sam and Nic)
and lastly, my most recent favorite:
Farmer has made me cry about 10 times. I especially love the one called 'Blood Will Tell' March 26 '10.
Oh, one more thing. Don't forget about the baby storks. http://www.pfalzstorch.de/bilder/live1.html
I think they are ready to fly. It will definitely be a bitter sweet moment for Gin and LQ. We got VERY attached.
Ciao,
Gin

Warp speed, PLEASE...

Hello everyone!
I just ordered the newly released Johnny Flynn CD, called 'Been Listening.'
I hope it gets here lightening-fast! I am too excited to have to wait long.
For those who do not know me, this is my absolute favorite band.
For those who DO know me, they would say I'm obsessed!! Both correct.
Check them out for yourself!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
Hugs,
~Flinny Gin~

Don't lay a finger on my Butterfinger...

WARNING!!! Not for the healthy conscious...
If you have a Quick Trip (a Texas convenience-store) close by, pop in and get a Butterfinger flavored coffee. It is heaven in a cup!
Obviously, if you are concerned about calories (puh!), sugar grams (blah!), fat (lame!); then you might want to keep on driving. But, if not; man oh' man, yumo!

Confession: Normally, I am very concerned about the list above...but I decided that I deserve a little treat now and again.

Wink,
Gin

Hoot hoot!!

Here's a fun little fact about LQ's adorable little visitor:
"Athena, the Greek mythological God of war and wisdom, chose the little owl as a protective symbol. It was believed that the owl's night vision was a magical inner light."
Also, two days before his visit, LQ and I confessed to one another how much we have been loving and buying owl jewelry. It's our "latest thang!"
Coincidence? I think NOT.

Sweet Little Stork Family

Our new obsession!!
A few weeks ago, I downloaded a new app to my phone called World Tour. It's quite incredible. The app shows still photos from LIVE web cams from all over the world. It up-dates the wallpaper on my Droid phone every 30 minutes. You can set the app to show random locations or chose a favorite. I have definitely found my fav cam. It is a nest cam in Bornheim, Germany. It is wonderful. I have enjoyed watching this little family grow. There is a mommy, daddy and two sweet little babies.
As I said before, I'm obsessed with them. One day last week, I left for work and forgot my cell, which for most of us is like "the end of the world," and it was for me too; not because I couldn't text, check Facebook, make calls etc...but because I couldn't check in on my cute stork family.
Well, to my excitement, I found the actual web site to the nest cam.
http://www.pfalzstorch.de/bilder/live1.html
This site up-dates every 5 minutes. Score!
Check it out! My sis and mom are now crazy for them too.

Adorable, little visitor

Look at this cute little owl that decided to visit our home construction project. The fledgling owl lives in a tree on our property.

Our little trouble maker

This is Favre. He is just one of our sweet furry kids. This little guy is one of the most loving, yet hell-raising, "gets in trouble all the time" cats ever. There is never a dull moment with him.
This photo was snapped shortly after pulling him out of the folds in the newly hung curtains. Notice his "but...but, I was having fun, mom" expression. I am sure he is plotting his next attack on my curtains as I am typing.
A music recommendation: I am in love with the movie Amelie. It's quite beautiful. Not surprisingly, the soundtrack is also divine. It's like magic to me. I am listening to it now.
I dare you to listen and try not to drift off into a wonderful daydream. Ahhhh...
*she smiles and her imagination wonders*

Home Projects

So, this is what I have been up to (plus more & will post later). I sewed some curtain panels for our family room. I think they look nice. Do you?

Here's the semi-before pic.

Thank you to my N8 for hanging them. They are perfectly straight, darling!! You are awesome!

This is our new "stairs-family-friends-frame" wall. I haven't added any photos yet. I plan to order the prints very soon. It's difficult to pick which photos to insert. I have so many wonderful ones. In the center is the 'But We Don't Dance' print by Casey O'Connell that my husband got me for Easter. I love, love, love it!!! He spoils me.

(Ignore the air vent. The builder of our home must have been a "genius" to put a big ugly vent smack in the middle of our wall. Idiot!).

Anyway, I think it's still nice. I have always wanted a wall filled with photos of all my loved ones. I will add more and more as I can. I now always keep a look out for neat frames (hopefully on sale) to add to it.
Love,
GinnyBee

The zoo is cool at any age...

Hi...
The above photo is of myself (middle), one of my best friends, Hayley (left) and Hayley's little sis (aka. my little sis), Blair. I adore these two women. They are wonderful in every way!! Hayley and Blair had their first borns literally one week apart. Harper (Hayley's daughter) and Hayden (Blair's son) just turned 2. OMG!
So, a zoo birthday was a must! :) Cannot even express how cute these two kiddos are!!! Harper is a sweet little girlie-girl who loves dolls and clothes. Hayden is all boy, trucks and cars. And turns out, Hayden loves Miss Ginny. He wanted me to hold him pretty much the whole time. He's a heavy little dude, well for someone who hasn't developed the "mom-arm-hip muscles" yet. I was a tad sore but worth every minute!!! Loved it!

Mind maps.....

While being terribly bored at my day job, I was looking for the end of the internet and found this. I'm definitely a "visual person" so this is right up my alley (I guarantee my sister needs this, too). Enjoy.

More info on the website is here: http://www.art-is-fun.com/create-a-mind-map.html

Check out her photorealism paintings, too. Amazing. Talented.

Bad Blogger, Bad.

Good morning Friends & Thursday!
I would like to start off by apologizing to LQ. I have been a bad blogger. Sorry sis! I will try harder.
I plan on doing a lot of blog catch-up this weekend. I have quite a bit to write about and oodles of photos to add of my latest adventures. (And of my latest projects)!

Current project: Sewing new curtains for our family room and yard work! I love doing yard work. :)
Until next time, here is a photo of my furry love, Titan.

Wink-wink,
Ginny

Eeyore's Birthday Party

Eeyore's birthday party is this weekend! Yay! http://www.eeyores.com

This fun festival is an Austin tradition and the 47th year so go check it out ~ Take your camera!!!!! Fun, wacky, hippie fest!

Three cheers for the weekend...

Well, it only took us SEVERAL weeks to finally add an entry to our blog...better late, than never.
Sis, You will be a blogging-pro in no time...

Ginny's Weekend Adventures:
I am quite happy that it's Friday! Nathan and I are having a couples/game/date-night at Chateau Le Baker (our home) with our friend David and his new sweetheart, Kristen. It should be a merry time. I hope I win the Guesstures trophy! Though, we have just about every board game out there, we always make time for Guesstures. Definitely a Baker favorite.

Then Saturday's plans in tale a visit to the annual Denton Jazz festival. Most of my closest girl friends will be attending with me, some of which I have not seen in "TOO DAMN LONG."

Sunday shall be relaxing and lazy with some guitar time.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention my latest project: My Family/Art wall. (Pics to follow soon). Nathan is assisting me with hanging all our family pics and my new 'But We Don't Dance' print by Casey O'Connell. We agreed that we needed some flare & life on our stair wall.

LQ, what are your plans?

With Love,

Ginny's Headquarters

Hi Sister! You need to teach me how to Blog. Ha!
